Fellows will be selected within each of the school’s three cluster areas (Humanities and Arts, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences) and be assigned to work with a department or program within that cluster. Working in partnership with and under the direction of faculty, fellows will help advance the educational objectives of the department or program with a specific focus on undergraduate education. In addition, fellows will be supported in their own professional development through a series of workshops.
Although we will consider those Stanford graduate students who have received their PhD or DMA any time after August 2019, strong preference will be given to those who have just completed or are now completing their doctoral degree. Successful candidates will have demonstrated significant achievements in scholarship, an enthusiasm for teaching, and a commitment to pursue innovations that can improve the educational experience for all of our undergraduates.
Current fellows are eligible to apply for a second year, however new fellows have priority.
Fellows will be appointed as lecturers in an academic department or program for one year (12 month) appointments beginning September 1, 2021. Fellows will receive an annual salary of $73,000 plus benefits. All fellows must have been awarded their doctorate degree prior to the start of their appointment or have applied to graduate and submitted the dissertation such that only conferral of the degree by Stanford University is pending. All fellows must be eligible to work in the United States and able to be physically on campus as Stanford health restrictions allow. Fellows who graduate prior to the September 1, 2021 start and require bridge funding will be provided other opportunities for bridge funding.
